How AI agents can shop at Goodshelf

This store is built to be read and used by AI assistants. Everything a shopper sees is also available as clean Markdown and JSON, prices and availability are live, and checkout works with a single link or through the Universal Commerce Protocol.

Fastest path to a purchase

  1. Find products in the product feed or on any product page (append .md for Markdown).
  2. Open https://goodshelf.com/buy/<sku>:<quantity>,<sku>:<quantity> with the SKUs and quantities. It creates a secure Stripe checkout and redirects there.
  3. The buyer completes payment on Stripe (card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay). The card is authorized at checkout and charged when the order ships.

What exists today: llms.txt, Markdown and JSON twins of every page, product feeds, the UCP profile and REST checkout, buy permalinks, a compare API, and WebMCP tools in the browser. We do not run a hosted MCP server.

Agent policy

  • Agents may read every public page, compare products, build a cart, and start checkout. A person always completes payment on Stripe; agents never see card details.
  • Pages, feeds, and agent files are not rate limited; robots.txt lists the crawlers we explicitly welcome. JSON APIs under /api/ allow 600 requests per minute per client and answer 429 with a retry time when exceeded.
  • Starting a checkout (a UCP checkout session, a /buy link, or the cart) is limited to 10 a minute and 30 an hour per client, to keep card testing out; over it, the answer is 429 with Retry-After. Reuse an Idempotency-Key rather than starting a new checkout to retry.
  • Please identify your agent in the User-Agent header. We do not serve different facts to agents and people.
  • Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable sales tax. Shipping is shown before payment, and there are no other fees. We ship to every US state and Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and military addresses (APO, FPO, and DPO) at the same rates, and accept cards only.
  • No brand pays for placement in our listings, guides, collections, or comparisons.
  • We never publish fake or paid reviews. Claims link to their sources on each product page.
