Our story

Why Goodshelf exists

Too many products win on ad spend. Goodshelf picks on evidence instead: who each product fits, who should skip it, and a source for every claim.

It is hard to tell what is real

Too many products are low quality but heavily promoted. Placements are paid for, reviews get bought, influencers get paid, and rankings go to whoever spends the most on ads.

That makes it hard to find the product that is actually right for you, and easy to end up with something you send back or regret.

AI assistants have the same problem

More people now ask an AI assistant to do the research before a bigger purchase: long questions about what to buy, what to avoid, and what fits their life.

The assistant is only as good as what it reads. Right now there is no source it can back: the review may have been paid for, the influencer may have been paid, and the product page was written to sell.

Good products are good at different things

Products that are actually good each have different strengths, and each is best for certain people and certain jobs. Our job is to say which is which.

So every product page lists full specs, who the product is best for and who should skip it, the evidence behind each claim with a link to its source, and plain shipping and return terms. People and assistants read the same page and get the same facts.

Why it matters

When people find the product that fits, there are fewer returns, less waste, and less buyer's remorse.

It also means good products from smaller brands get found, not just the ones with the biggest ad budgets. We think the best products should win.

How we keep it honest

  • No brand pays to be sold, listed, ranked, or featured here.
  • We do not publish paid reviews or paid influencer picks, and we publish no customer reviews until we collect them from verified buyers.
  • When we compare products, we follow published rules: the method comes first, products we do not sell are included, and every result is published. See How we test.
  • The rest of our rules, including how we make money, are in Our standards.

Our catalog is small today and growing, starting with the higher-consideration products people research before they buy. Questions or a product we should look at: contact us.
